These can be known as delinquent interviews or borrower interview inspections. As inspectors, we will attempt to make direct contact with the occupant and obtain the occupant’s name and phone number, since the mortgage company is attempting to determine why the payment is in default.

We’ll be sure to follow the instructions on the inspection. If we cannot make direct contact, we will use the “T” approach, meaning that we will confirm occupancy with the neighbors on either side and across the street – unless otherwise stated on the form or in guidelines. We’ll leave a call back card with the mortgagor/ borrower only.
